Frequently asked
How do I send feedback or report a bug?
Open Basate, go to Settings → Feedback, and tap it — you'll be able to draw on a screenshot to point out the problem and add a note. The app hands that screenshot to your phone's share sheet so you can send it straight to basateapp@gmail.com through whichever mail app you use. Basate doesn't upload anything itself; you're always the one who sends it.
My bus line isn't in the app — can it be added?
Yes. Go to Settings → Request a route, or just email us the line number, the two ends of the route, and any stops you remember. Routes are added to the app for everyone in a future update, not just for you.
Why does Basate ask for my location?
Only to center the map on you and figure out your nearest stop. It's requested as "while using the app," it's read live off your device, and it is never saved to storage or sent to us or anyone else. You can decline it and still browse every route and use Saved and Notes — you'll just need to find your starting point manually.
Do I need an account?
No. Basate has no sign-up, no login, and no account of any kind. Everything — your saved lines, favourite places, and notes — is stored only on your own device.
Will I lose my saved places and notes if I switch phones or reinstall?
Because everything is stored locally rather than in an account, yes — uninstalling the app or moving to a new device clears them. There's currently no cloud backup or restore.
Does Basate work without an internet connection?
The bus route data itself is built into the app, but the map tiles are provided by Google Maps and need a connection to load. If you've viewed an area before, some map tiles may still show from your device's cache.
Is there a cost to use Basate, or ads?
Basate is free to use and currently has no ads, in-app purchases, or subscriptions.
Where can I read the privacy policy?
Right here: Basate's Privacy Policy. Short version: no accounts, no tracking, your data stays on your device.
Still need help?
Email basateapp@gmail.com with your device model and phone's OS version if it's a bug — it helps us reproduce the issue faster.
